November Meetings: The November AOSED Meeting, Executive Directors Institute, and Advocacy for Healthy Partnerships meetings are around the corner. Special thanks to Angela Westhoff for putting together the AOSED program. The full program agenda is listed below. Don't forgot, the AOA will cover the costs for 1 executive and 1 physician leader from each society to attend the AHP meeting. The reimbursement is limited to lodging on November 19 & 20 and airfare up to $500. Registration for AHP is due by Nov. 6.

Online Streaming Option: We had originally planned to provide a live internet stream of the AOSED meeting, but have had very little interest in this option. If you are interested in participating via the online stream, please send me an email at no later than Friday, November 6th. If there is enough interest, we set this option up for members.

CME Sponsors Conference: The CME sponsors conference will be held January 7-8, 2016 in San Antonio with a different format as a combined program with the Osteopathic Medical Education Leadership Conference and the American Association of Osteopathic Examiners. The program agenda is posted here. As many of you have noted, the CME specific topics are limited with a combined program and I have expressed this concern to the AOA. As part of our November CME program, we will explore the future of the sponsors conference and are looking for your input to help shape future events. Whether or not you plan on attending the November AOSED meeting, please take a moment to complete our short survey through this link.

Please note, sponsors are required to attend 1 CME sponsors conference per three year CME cycle. With the new cycle starting January 2016, you will have two more opportunities to attend a sponsors conference if you are unable to attend in 2016.

DO Brand Awareness Campaign: As you have likely heard, the DO Brand Awareness Campaign launched in October at OMED. The AOA has released a toolkit for affiliates that has been posted on our AOSED website and can be accessed through this link. The toolkit includes videos, banner ads, and sample facebook and twitter posts. AOSED will continue to work with the AOA for more opportunities for affiliates to participate in the campaign. If you have specific questions about the toolkit, please contact AOA Chief Communications Officer, Charlie Simpson at

Reminder - Webinar Series

In a partnership between AOSED, the Maine Osteopathic Association, and the Jorgensen Group, we are offering monthly webinar series on a variety of practice management topics.

There is no cost and no extra work to your state association to participate. Essentially, the series has been vetted by the MOA and has been pre-approved for AOA Category 1-A CME credit with the appropriate pre and post tests. State osteopathic associations can promote these learning opportunities to their members and because we have a revenue share agreement for every DO from your state that signs up, you get 25% of the registration fee.

To recap, your state association will receive a check for 25% (in this case it's $62.25) for every doc that participates just for your time and effort to promote the webinars. The start date of the series is quickly approaching-- November 5 is the first webinar with two others following on 12th and 19th. Registrations are lower than we would like and in order to keep offering this webinar series we need your help to get the word out. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. We also welcome input on future topics if you have ideas!
