Question:

Please provide any additional comments you have regarding the CME Sponsors Conference

Information on grant opportunities.
I have always found the conferences beneficial. In the last 4 of the last 6 conferences.
What is the goal of the CME Sponsors Conference? Is it to make sure that we are in compliance with accreditation rules? There are other mechanisms for that.
When I went to my first and last CME conference, I was shocked to see a representative from CAMC there being accredited for AOA CME....directly in competition to us, it would have been nice to have been given a heads up!
Move it to Chicago before or after HOD and have AOSED/SOSE do most of the training. Minimize AOA staff involvement. Reduce the $595 Tuition to a reasonable amount. Reduce annual travel costs for sponsors by pig-tailing the CME conference with HOD. Can do in one day if very focused without the wasted AOA fluff we usually must sit through.
I think that AOSED meets only a few times a year, and it would be a shame to lose one of those opportunities
The sponsors conferences I have attended have provided no information that could not have been viewed online. Streaming the conference seems like a no-brainer at this point. Require attendance in-person once per cycle and online for certain refreshers annually. Better yet, hold one large conference per cycle with mandated attendance of sponsors (just before new cycle begins), and periodic updates held via webinar or live streaming throughout the rest of the cycle. On-demand modules would be nice as well.
Please keep the breakouts by type of CME sponsor (and give us more time in those breakouts). It is extremely useful to talk about important issues with peers who are doing the same work under the same rules.
Getting information on the AOA CME Sponsors conference for 2016 is so far behind. It is 2 months away and we still CANNOT register for the Conference or book hotel reservations (checking online the hotel is sold out during these dates), which makes it very difficult to budget and plan. It is inconsiderate to not have the information ready, when it is mandatory that we attend to keep our AOA accreditation.
Sometimes I learn more from my AOSED colleagues than from the scheduled program material, so attending is always beneficial, even if the program content is weak. That being said, I cannot afford to attend in person every year, but would pay a registration fee to attend by livestream webinar.
Are we going to have input on how credits will be reported in the future? It is a discussion we need to have.
